Enabling collaboration across schools

There is a wealth of expertise in Camden where excellence is shared across schools through well-established networks, visionary learning hubs, practice-based Lesson Study, school-to-school visits and peer reviews.

Camden secondary schools have already established a common approach to assessing the progress of learners, moderating judgements of expectations based on agreed standards in English, Maths and Science. Through established principles and processes, all subject areas can fairly assess whether learners are on track to meet expectations at the end of Key Stage 3 and are well-prepared for the challenges of KS4.

Through continued collaboration, schools will agree ‘expected standards’ for the humanities, Modern Foreign languages, Design and Technology, as well as the Arts subjects. The discussions between schools will provide valuable CPD for subject specialists which may continue throughout the year in the form of subject networks.

Through assessment conferences, assessment leads and data managers develop principles and processes for information-sharing between schools about the progress and attainment of groups of learners.

The Benefits:

Secondary assessment is coordinated by the Secondary Teaching and Learning Consultant in collaboration with Parliament Hill School through a network of Secondary Assessment Leads. Secondary Assessment benefits from the support of Special Leads in Education for English and Science.
