National Insurance Increases – February Payslips

As you are probably aware due to ending of pension contracting out our National Insurance contributions will rise from April 2016. To prepare and make staff aware of this and the consequent reduction in net pay the following message below is going to be included on school’s staff payslips this month.

From the 6th April 2016 the amount of National Insurance you pay will increase by up to 1.4% if you are in the pension scheme. You should receive a letter shortly with more details

The number of characters restricts what we can be stated. So Payroll have also prepared a template letter to provide staff with more detailed information. It is entirely up to you whether you go with the letter as drafted or tailor it to your own context . So long as each staff member receives a letter after advising them of the NI changes so they are aware in good time ahead of the change.

The template letter can be found in the Document Library in the Pay and Reward section, under the document title "Changes to National Insurance Template Letter".
