IMPORTANT: Incident Management Briefing for Schools by the Metropolitan Police on 3rd December 2015

In light of the current terrorism threat to the UK and following a number of requests by schools for guidance the Met Police have kindly offered to provide an Incident Management Briefing for our schools covering the following:

• Prevention measures to minimise as far as is possible the risks of unauthorised entry into school
• What to do if intruders enter school premises
• Managing the children in circumstances where an intruder is present.
• Strategies to use in interacting with the intruders
• Who to contact if able to raise alarm
• What to do if a telephone call is not possible, how to raise the alarm
• How to brief staff – without alarming them
• Glossary of terms – e.g. what does lock down actually mean

Details of the briefing are as follows:

• Date: Thursday 3rd December
• Time: 10am - 1pm
• Venue: Committee Room 1, First Floor, Camden Town Hall, Judd Street, London, WC1H 9JE
