HR Policies and Procedures

The School’s HR Business Advisor team have recently reviewed and updated a number of the HR policies and procedures.

These include:

School Support Staff Probation Guidelines

The support staff probationary guidelines set out the process for effectively managing the probationary period, including evaluating the work performance of new staff. Template forms and letters are also available.

Special Leave Guidelines

This guidance is designed to provide a clear and workable framework to enable requests for leave of absence from staff working at the school to be reasonably and fairly handled. It recognises that the operational needs of the school are the priority and there may be times when the Head Teacher has to refuse a request for leave based on the individual merits and circumstances of each case. These guidelines replace the previous Absence Management Guidance notes.

Flexible Working Procedure

The Flexible Working Procedure sets out the process employees should follow when requesting a flexible working arrangement and includes template application and decision forms.

All procedures and guidelines have been agreed with the trade unions and are now available on the website. All documents should be formally adopted by the Governing Body before use.
