Accessibility Audit Tool 2017

27 Apr 2017

As promised to SENDCOs here is the Accessibility Audit Tool which will support schools in developing their statutory accessibility plan.

Deadline: 12th May 2017

The following survey is designed to provide information about the accessibility of your educational setting.

Are you compliant with the Education Act 2010? How inclusive is your education? How do you provide information and support to families? Above all, how accessible is your school now and how will you plan to develop your physical accessibility over the next 4 years?

This information will

  1. Provide Camden with data to assist with strategic planning,
  2. Provide you with a tool with which to review on a yearly basis progress towards areas you have identified and targeted for development.

Accessibility improvements in educational settings could possibly be funded, or partly funded, by developer contributions that have yet to be allocated to specific areas of work. These contributions, known as s.106 allocations, are to be spent strategically across Camden schools and we are currently investigating different aspects of educational buildings that could improve the physical environment.

The responses to the audit will provide information on the range of issues that are present within Camden schools and help with our strategy for allocating s. 106 spending. Thus we encourage you to reply to the survey within the given deadline to inform decision making with regard spending s.106 funds in this area.
