Mental Health Support for Schools

20 Apr 2017

Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to send you information about Mental Health support for schools.

Mental Health Directory of Support

We have produced a Directory of Support-one for primary/special and one for secondary/special.

The Directory brings together information about local and national organisations that provide support to schools, children, young people and families on Mental Health. We hope it will be useful to schools to support children and young people’s mental health and resilience.

CSF Scrutiny report on Mental Health services for 11-19 year olds

A review on young people’s mental health services took place between November 2016 and February 2017 by a special panel of the Camden Children, School and Families Scrutiny Committee. The aim of the review was to investigate the extent and quality of provision for mental health services for young people aged 11-19 and to make recommendations for improving outcomes for young people with mental health problems. The report was presented to the Children, Schools and Families Scrutiny meeting on March 23rd where the Committee welcomed and agreed all recommendations made by the panel.

The review panel involved: Councilor Siobhan Baillie (Chair of the panel), Councilor Jenny Headlam-Wells (Chair of CSF Scrutiny Committee), Councilor James Yarde and Councilor Oliver Lewis.

If you have any questions about the report or would like more information, please contact Marta Calonge Contreras, Strategic Commissioning Manager, marta.calonge-contreras@camden.gov.uk
