The Camden Greener Schools Awards

07 Mar 2017

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the Greener School Awards competition 2017, which is part of the Camden in Bloom 2016 campaign.

This year Camden in Bloom is searching for schools that are creating a healthier and more sustainable school environment, with particular contributions to energy reduction, local air quality and recycling.

NEW - a special Commendation is now set aside within each category for the highest-scoring entries from schools who are new to the Awards, or have previously entered unsuccessfully.

Look out too for our impartial “How To Win” tips - see contact section below for details!

Whether your school is an expert at recycling and waste minimisation, improving energy efficiency, or growing your own food, we would like to hear from you!

This year the categories are:

  • Energy efficiency*
  • Healthy start award for food growing
  • Biodiversity
  • Reduce, reuse, recycle*
  • Active travel & air quality*
  • Greenest School Award - combined score of other categories

*High-score categories for those seeking nomination towards Greener School Award

Your school can enter all the categories, however you will be judged individually on each so you can win more than one prize. The independent judges for the Awards will visit the shortlisted schools, giving you the opportunity to show off your space in person.

The competition is now open and you can apply using this online form . Deadline for submitting applications is midnight on Sunday 11 June 2017. If you need any help at all with the application, including impartial tips on how to maximise your chances of winning, please contact Gabriel Berry-Khan, Senior Sustainability Officer on or 020 7974 4550 or Michelle Jamieson, School Travel Plan officer on or 020 7974 5537.
