Carlton Primary achieves Healthy Schools London GOLD Award

01 Mar 2017

Many congratulations to Carlton on achieving the Healthy Schools London Gold Award. This is a fantastic achievement. Carlton is only the second school in Camden to achieve this award-the highest award given by Healthy Schools London.

Carlton received the Gold Award as a result of significantly increasing pupils’ consumption of fruit and vegetables and the number of children that can swim. These were outcomes they had identified for their silver award.

Their achievements are the result of a range of activities including establishing Mini Health Champions, starting a healthy tuck shop, updating their food policy, linking the curriculum with their edible garden, having weekly swimming lessons for all Year 4 pupils throughout the academic year and top up sessions each term for pupils in Year 5 and 6 who could not swim 25 metres.
