The BAM FM contract that started on 3 January 2015 for a period of three years is due to end in approximately 11 months, on 2 January 2018. There is an option to extend for up to a further two years, however, it is unlikely that this option will be exercised. Therefore, please note that your SLA charges for 2017 / 2018 will be for a 9 month period only.

The council will be consulting with schools from early March 2017 to explore possible future options for the service. We will be working in conjunction with Camden Schools Partnerships and user groups will be set up to assist with the development of future options. We would welcome volunteers for this group.

BAM FM will continue to provide a full FM service and they will be informed of the council’s decision six months prior to the expiry date of the contract. This is to ensure that it does not affect the day to day delivery of the service.

Below is the high level timeline for the arrangement of the new repairs and maintenance contract / contract exit.

School meals contract

The current school meals contract with Caterlink, which started on 1st April 2010 for a period of five years and extended for a further two years is due to expire on 31st March 2018. The council is proposing to procure a new service in conjunction with Islington schools to achieve better economies of scale.

The council will be engaging a consultancy support from Litmus to assist with the procurement of the new service, as well as engaging with schools to gain insight into your experience of the current service and see whether the current performance meets your requirements. This process will start taking place from March 2017.

As part of the procurement process, user groups would need to be set up to assist with the decision making for the appointment of the successful provider. We will be looking for volunteers from representatives from Headteachers, governors and business managers. More information will be provided in the next couple of months.
