Event for NQT Induction Tutors and Co-ordinators,

The next free event in the NQT Growing Great Teachers programme focussing on induction tutors and co-ordinators’ roles, will cover Difficult Conversations, and will be led by Andy Vass.

Andy’s background:

“I’ve spent the past 35 years as a teacher, trainer and coach. Also, as a parent of three teachers (and the husband of one) I am fully immersed in education and how schools function.

I work across the UK and internationally with organisations and individuals to support successful improvement. I do this through developing positive behaviours, emotionally intelligent relationships and solution focused coaching cultures.”

Event outline:

Your crucial role as a mentor is key to the success and achievement of NQTs. The significance of effective dialogue, focused responsibility and a solution focused attitude is critical to their success. And yet research suggests that holding the more difficult or challenging conversations are often diluted, done ambiguously or just plain avoided.

This brief seminar brings the very latest understanding of how to hold conversations that encourage growth, learning and change.

• The essential difference between criticism and feedback

• The essence of motivation and how to build it in anyone

• The number one psychological step to successful change

• A range of key language patterns
