The Camden STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) Commission has been launched to bring the borough’s schools, businesses and other key institutions together. It will look at new ways to capitalise on the borough’s unique creative, scientific and digital economy.

The Commission is chaired by Dinah Caine CBE of Creative Skillset, and includes representation from the following educational, industry and community bodies:

Rob Earrey, Headteacher, Fitzjohn’s Primary School

Andy Wilson, Principal, WKCIC

Carl Gombrich, Director of Arts and Sciences Bsc Degree, UCL

Louisa Pointon, Senior HR Officer, Arup

Saul Klein (OBE), Partner, LocalGlobe

Glen Saberton, Senior Artist, Rocksteady

Catherine Knivett, Digital Skills Officer, GLA

Di Maxfield-Twine, Vice-President HR, Viacom;

Diane Chang-Wardi, Business Lead, Facebook

Lia Commissar, Project Manager: Education and Neuroscience, Wellcome Trust

Saba Asif and Eden Lunghy, Camden Deputy Youth MPs

Cllr Georgia Gould, Camden Council

Omid Shiraji, Chief Information Officer, London Borough of Camden

Evidence has been received by the Commission from a range of organisations involved in the STEAM industries, education and policy. The Commission is keen to hear from others, with a view to understanding how stronger relationships can be built between schools and businesses, and how the equality of opportunities for young people can be increased.
