Camden STEAM Commission - Update for schools and businesses

Camden STEAM Commission - Update for schools and businesses

04 Oct 2016

Camden Council, in partnership with the Knowledge Quarter, has launched a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) Commission to bring together the borough’s businesses, schools and other key institutions.

The Commission is chaired by Dinah Caine CBE of Creative Skillset, and will highlight Camden’s significance as a centre for the digital, creative and scientific industries. It seeks to improve career opportunities for young people, and ensure businesses are able to benefit from the range of talent in the borough.
Following a successful series of launch events in the summer, the Commission will sit this autumn to consider evidence submitted from a wide range of different bodies. Commissioners representing educational, industry and community bodies will produce a report identifying actions for employers, schools and parents to help develop young people’s skills and opportunities in the STEAM sector.
