Code Clubs in Camden:

Camden was the first LA to make a commitment to establish a Code Club in every Primary school. Code Club together with volunteers from Google UK and the UCL Department of Engineering are enabling this ambition to become a reality.

You can read more about this development at Theo Blackwell's blog, here. Also, visit the Code Club Blog, the Code Club website and find out about the Code Club at Holy Trinity NW3.

Examples of good practice in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

'RIGHT from the start' is a suite of six films showing examples of good practice in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The key message in the films is that adults get to know their children well in order to teach them to develop skills, knowledge and understanding. It is clear in the films that the settings assess children's progress and plan activities in different ways -- Ofsted does not have a preferred style.

Peasedown St John Primary School...
How careful observation and planning leads to opportunities for purposeful play for a wide age range.

The Mead Community Primary School...
How the direct teaching of specific skills, particularly writing, sits alongside activities that children choose for themselves.

Chelsea Open Air Nursery...
How a small outdoor space can be maximised for all aspects of learning as well as helping children to learn how to manage risk.
